How to Measure for Your Perfect Fit
How to Measure for Your Perfect Fit
At Waisted Gems, every piece is made to order for your exact measurements. Taking a moment to measure correctly ensures your piece fits beautifully from the first time you wear it.
Measuring for a Waist Chain or Body Chain
- Use a soft measuring tape — the kind used for sewing. Do not use a metal ruler or measuring tape.
- Measure on bare skin, not over clothing. Clothing adds bulk and will result in an inaccurate measurement.
- Wrap the tape around your waist at the point where you intend to wear the chain. This is typically at your natural waist, your hips, or your belly — wherever feels most comfortable and beautiful to you.
- Keep the tape slightly loose — not tight. You want room to breathe and move comfortably while wearing your piece.
- Note the measurement in inches and use that number when selecting your size at checkout.
Important: Do not order based on your clothing size. Clothing sizes vary widely between brands and are not an accurate reflection of your body measurements.
Measuring for a Bracelet or Hand Chain
- Wrap the measuring tape around your wrist at the wrist bone — the narrowest point of your wrist.
- For a fitted bracelet, order half an inch larger than your measurement.
- For a looser, more relaxed fit, order one inch to one and a quarter inches larger than your measurement.
- If you are between sizes, we recommend sizing up for comfort.
Measuring for a Necklace
- Measure around the base of your neck where you would like the necklace to sit.
- Add the number of inches you would like the necklace to hang below that point.
- This gives you your ideal necklace length.
